PlainWords helps you read hard text, such as official letters, contracts, and health information. Paste the text, choose a level, and read a plainer version beside the original.

Three levels of rewriting:

- Level 1 keeps the structure and replaces hard words
- Level 2 splits long sentences and removes clauses inside clauses
- Level 3 rewrites the text in short sentences, one idea at a time

Look up words without internet:

- 681 hard words and phrases with plain meanings, stored on your phone
- The list focuses on official, legal, money, and medical wording
- Tap any word in the side-by-side view to see its meaning
- Search the full word list

See what changed:

- Average sentence length and share of hard words, before and after
- A list of the words the rewrite replaced
- A warning when a number from the original is missing from the rewrite

Keep what you need:

- Save rewrites on your phone and read them again without internet
- Choose your text size and a light or dark appearance

How your text is handled: when you ask for a rewrite, the text you pasted is sent through the PlainWords API gateway to an AI service to create it. Rewriting needs an internet connection. The app saves your text only if you tap Save, and saved texts stay on your phone. Please remove names, ID numbers, and other private details before you send text. PlainWords has no account, ads, analytics, tracking, or in-app purchases.

Important limits: AI rewrites can contain mistakes, so always check them against the original. The word list gives general meanings, and a document can use a word in a special way. The word list and readability measures are designed for English. PlainWords is a reading aid, not legal, medical, or financial advice, and it is not linked to any government, court, or health service.
